Unidirectional or bidirectional high temperature and pressure sintering furnace for material high-density processing

 

   This equipment is widely used in efficient densification sintering of various ceramics, alloys, and composite materials. The equipment size can be customized, the pressure head material can be graphite or TZM, and the pressurization method can adopt upper and lower pressure heads for unidirectional pressure or bidirectional pressure.

    

    The sintering process can be divided into two categories: unpressurized sintering (sintering without external pressure) and pressurized sintering (sintering with external pressure).Pressure sintering is the process of applying high temperature and external pressure to loose powder or powder compacting.

  

     Hot-pressing Sintering, Hot Pressing Sintering, HPS) is in the process of Sintering and exert a certain external force (according to the strength of the mould material can withstand, general pressure in the 10 ~ 40 mpa), make the material flow acceleration, rearrangement and densification.The temperature of hot pressing sintering is about 100℃~150℃ lower than that of normal pressure sintering, but the driving force of hot pressing sintering is 20~100 times larger than that of normal pressure sintering.

 

Here are the advantages and disadvantages of hot pressing sintering:

Advantages

  1. During hot pressing, the powder is in a thermoplastic state, which results in low deformation resistance and makes it easy for plastic flow and densification to occur. Consequently, the required forming pressure is only 1/10 of that in the cold pressing method. This enables the formation of large-sized products such as Al₂O₃, BeO, BN, and TiB₂.
  2. The simultaneous application of heating and pressurization facilitates the mass transfer processes of powder particles, including contact, diffusion, and flow. This reduces the sintering temperature and shortens the sintering time, thereby inhibiting grain growth.
  3. The hot-pressing method allows for the easy production of sintered bodies with near-theoretical density and porosity close to zero. It also enables the achievement of a fine-grained structure, the realization of crystal orientation effects, and the control of composition changes in sodium systems containing high vapor pressure. As a result, products with excellent mechanical and electrical properties can be easily obtained.
  4. It is capable of manufacturing products with complex shapes and precise dimensions.

Disadvantages

The main drawbacks of hot pressing sintering are its low productivity and high cost.
 

Application fields include:

1. Tools: diamond and cubic boron nitride products;Cemented carbide products;Cermet, powder high speed steel products.

2. Electrical: soft magnetic, hard magnetic, high temperature magnetic materials;Ferrite, electric contact material, metal electrothermal material, electric vacuum material.

3. Special materials: powder superalloy, oxide dispersion strengthening material, carbon (boron, nitrogen) dispersion strengthening material, fiber strengthening material, high purity heat resistant metal (tantalum, niobium, molybdenum, tungsten, beryllium) and alloy, composite metal, etc.

4. Mechanical parts: widely used in automobile, aircraft, ship, agricultural machinery, office machinery, hydraulic parts, machine tools, home appliances and other fields.Especially wear-resistant and fragile key parts.

 

 Installation pre-test and pre-acceptance

 

The equipment is fully assembled in our factory, including all pipelines, vacuum pipelines, process gas pipelines, cooling water pipelines, compressed air pipelines, etc. Pre-testing can be carried out after installation. At the customer site, pipelines other than the equipment are provided by the customer. The installation also includes the connection of all cables. At the customer site, the main cable connecting the power cabinet is provided by the customer. After installation, we conduct vacuum and positive pressure leakage tests on the entire equipment, as well as mechanical and electrical function tests.

 

Disassembly and transportation

 

The equipment will be disassembled in several large parts, packed in a standardized wooden cases, and loaded into the transport vehicle.

Customer site installation and commissioning

 

The Redeer after-sales engineer will lead the team to complete commissioning, product trial burning and other work within 20 working days. The customer needs to make appropriate preparations and provide the necessary tools, such as hoisting and lifting equipment. And provide installation personnel support (it is recommended to have 1 mechanical personnel and 1 electrical personnel).

 

Final acceptance

 

After installation and commissioning, the equipment can be finally accepted in accordance with the requirements of the technical contract.
